Introduction to management. Different types of food businesses. Economic principles of agricultural products and foodstuffs production. Introduction to Food industry. Supply and demand in agribusinesses. Market Structure, Basic conditions of manufacturing. The cost of processing agricultural products. Contract Farming, Performance for agricultural industries. Quality management in food industry.

Educational Aims

At the end of this course every student is expected to have basic skills and knowledge to understand and evaluate the economic principles behind the process of agricultural product to produce foods.

Student Evaluation

The assessment of the expected learning outcomes is made by written examination at the end of the semester, which includes questions that evaluate both the acquired knowledge by students and their ability to utilize them critically. The final grade is formed by taking into account the successful accomplishment of the semester assignment.
