Educational Aims

The science of Financial Management deals with the administrative decisions that lead to the acquisition and financing of a company's long-term and short-term assets and the impact of these decisions on its financial figures, as well as on the study of modern risk management techniques and methods that effectively contribute to making rational financial decisions.The main objective of the course is to learn the theoretical concepts and methods of Financial Management with a view to their practical application.

At the end of this course the students shouldbe able to:

• Understand the financial structure of the business.
• Understand the time value of money and the concepts of present and future values
• Apply risk assessment techniques.
• Evaluate investments in fixed assets under uncertainty.
• Understand investments in current assets (stocks, receivables and cash).
• Understand the dividend policy and its determinants.

In addition, exercises are solved so that the students gain essential skills and more flexibility in dealing with practical problems in the field of financial management.
